SoftBank Corp. and Link Net team up to develop and deploy IoT solutions

Link Net, a subsidiary of Indonesian conglomerate Lippo Group and Japan’s telecommunication company SoftBank Corp. have signed a collaborative agreement on development and deployment of ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT).

As part of the agreement signed back in Jakarta on 29 June 2018, the joint venture will work to develop and deploy the IoT solutions, its platform and solutions across the real estate, healthcare and mobility ecosystems in Indonesia, with major focus at Lippo’s mega-development Meikarta City, Lippo Malls and Siloam Hospitals.
The agreement was signed by Marlo Budiman, Chief Executive Officer of Link Net, Lippo Group’s leading high-speed broadband internet provider, and Hidebumi Kitahara, Vice President Global Business Strategy Division of SoftBank Corp.

“The global mobile industry is now entering the 5G era, with IoT becoming the central focal point of innovation. This partnership with Link Net shows our strong commitment to further boost technology innovation in the global market and further advance the ICT development in the country,” noted Hidebumi Kitahara.
The initial phase involves the deployment of IoT devices coupled with video analytics involving homes, commercial buildings, malls, offices, streets and other areas in our various property Developments, as told by Marlo Budiman.

Established in 1996, Link Net is the largest provider of services via cable in Indonesia, providing subscription of high-quality television services, high-speed next-generation broadband internet, and data communications under the brand “First Media”.
